Abstract

The distribution of water resources and rainfall in the world is not same, inter-basin water transfer in the form of water projects for the collection, transmission and creation of appropriate quality for balanced development of human activity is necessary. On the other hand in the management of water resources in addition to the issues we face at the same time exploiting reservoirs with hydraulic and water resources were important and both hydraulic and hydrologic modeling flow conditions must be considered together. In this study, three dams (Yalan, Pashandegan and Gokan) and two water transfer tunnels were used for transferring water from Yalan dam to Gokan dam. For this project simulating and optimizing, two algorithms connected with together in visual Basic and linked dynamic with Epanet software and solve water resources model, hydraulic and dynamic programming. Since the water flow through the tunnel is under pressure, increasing dam height will cause the decrease of tunnel diameter for 95% water conveyance efficiency. The results showed that Yalan and Pashandegan dam with a height of 148.37 and 59.36 m, respectively, and Yalan-Pashandegan and Pashandegan -Gokan tunnel diameter with 2.8 and 2.95 m, respectively, were the most economically optimal combination for water transferring in this project that has 5313.69 million Rials costs.
